Homelessness in Children’s Literature Series: Cash, Credit, and Cars

In this webinar teachers will be able to:

  • Gain knowledge of the homelessness as it applies to children and families

  • Review classroom ready activities based on chapter books features homeless characters

  • Learn how to introduce the students to the concepts of saving, saving, insurance, debt, and philanthropy

  • Discover new titles featuring the topic of homelessness in a topic related bibliography

This session focuses on the financial dilemmas that contributed to the situation of homelessness that is the theme in several new children’s books. Students learn how to allocate limited resources, problem solve dire situations, and contribute to the wellbeing of others. Attendees receive access to classroom ready lesson plans and an annotated bibliography. Featured chapter books include “Stay” by Bobbie Pyron and “Crenshaw” by Kathrine Applegate.
